Alert Hubs – Building the Dashboard
When working in a large organization with the potential for multiple simultaneous alerts, it can be helpful to have a single location to view only the most important information. This is where the alert hub and organization alert hub mentioned at the start of this section come into play.
The standard, network-level alert hub is viewable by clicking the bell icon in the top-right corner of any Dashboard network page and provides a quick and easily accessible summary of any active alerts across all devices in the current network.
The organization alert hub provides a similar alert-focused overview but at the organization level, displaying alerts, alert priority, and device details from across all devices across all networks in the organization. By simply navigating to Organization > Alerts, you can quickly view and filter for the most important alerts relating to configuration issues, such as automatically detected VLAN mismatches, stack misconfigurations, and more. Additionally, you can view alerts for device connectivity issues, such as unreachable devices or 802.1X failures, device health issues, such as fan or PSU failures, and even Insight-related alerts for selected LAN or WAN services.
These alert hubs help to greatly simplify the effort required to monitor device and network statuses in detail across multiple networks within an organization, allowing administrators to more quickly identify issues and resolve them with less effort. This benefit also extends to those working across multiple organizations, as the organization alert hub provides a quick and easy way to get an accurate and detailed overview of the current potential issues present across networks within each organization without requiring a direct touch to any individual network.
